Antoinette M. Wiltse

Antoinette M. Wiltse, 99, of Frederika, died Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at Unity Point-Allen Hospital in Waterloo.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday, April 18, 2014, at St. John Lutheran Church in Frederika with Rev. Dale Halverson officiating.  Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. Friends may call for one hour preceding services at the church on Friday. Rettig Funeral Home in Tripoli is assisting Antoinette’s family. 

Antoinette Margaret, daughter of Anthony and Mary Agnes Dinges Auchstetter, was born August 2, 1914, in Ulster Township of rural Charles City, Iowa. She was baptized at an early age and was confirmed on December 12, 1943, at St. John Lutheran Church in Charles City by Rev. Walter Fritschel. On November 28, 1933, she was united in marriage with Dean L. Wiltse at Charles City. They farmed near Floyd, Bassett, Colwell, and moved to a farm near Frederika in 1946. They continued on the farm until moving into Frederika in 1975. Antoinette was a longtime member of St. John Lutheran Church in Frederika where she was active in the Ladies Aid. She enjoyed all types of needlework, gardening, canning, and especially enjoyed the Frederika Senior Citizens and playing cards.  She had been a resident of the Bartels Lutheran Home in Waverly for the past three years.

Antoinette is survived by three children, Clayton (Ruth Ann) Wiltse of Denver, Joyce (Robert) Kammeyer of Tripoli, and Donna Wiltse of Waverly; seven grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dean who died December 9, 1993, her parents and step mother, Mae Bias; a grandson, James Wiltse; a great grandson, Elias King; her brothers, Joseph and Anthony Auchstetter; a sister, Mary Beck; a half brother, Keith Auchstetter; and  step sisters, Ruth Bork and Belva Brandon.

I am so sorry to hear of Aunt Annie's passing. She was always so kind to us and and I will always remember the fun we all used to have at the family reunions on Her and Uncle Dean's farm. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the entire family.
